Once again, our guest lecturer will be Dr Phillip Judge who, supported by a co-presenter from IDEXX, will be showing us how to identify cells and yeasts, interpret PCV/TP and prepare blood smears, stain urine and ear swabs for identification under the microscope.

This seminar will have hands on components, so we have limited spots available.

Cost $80 pp inclusive of morning and afternoon teas, lunch and comprehensive notes.

Presenters

Dr Philip Judge
BVSc, MVS, MACVSc (Medicine of Dogs, Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care)

Philip graduated from Massey University in New Zealand in 1991. After working in small animal practices in New Zealand for 7 years, Philip undertook a residency in veterinary emergency and critical care at the University of Melbourne Animal Emergency Centre. He gained membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 1999, and in Medicine of Dogs in 2003. Philip was awarded the degree of Master of Veterinary Studies from the University of Melbourne in 2001. Since 2001, Philip has been a senior clinician at the Animal Emergency Centre in Melbourne – one of the largest emergency and critical care facilities in Australia.

Over the past 12 months, Philip has undertaken surgical training at the Southern Animal Referral Centre. Philip is currently working in another Melbourne Emergency Centre, while running a veterinary and veterinary nurse online education business with his wife, Charisma.

Philips clinical interests include ventilation therapy, the pathophysiology of disease, trauma and interventional therapy in the critical patient. Outside of veterinary science, Philip enjoys long-distance running, mountaineering, sea kayaking and playing jazz.

Seminar details:

Venue: St Mary's Parish Centre, Bairnsdale, Vic 3875 (same venue as last year)
Cost: $80 (includes morning and afternoon teas, lunch and comprehensive notes)
Registration: Between 9.00- 9.20 am
Times: Seminar starts at 9.30am and ends at approx 4.30pm, with breaks for morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
Directions: Follow the highway through Bairnsdale, heading east, until you spot St Mary’s Church and McDonalds on the left.
Pull in to the car park and St Mary’s Parish Centre is situated immediately behind Subway.
