MAFFRA – STRATFORD – MARLEY POINT – MAFFRA.

65km.

Support:

Head towards Stratford via Weirs Crossing, up highway to Bengworden Rd, proceed around via Chinns Bridge to Clydebank Rd & to Marley Point for lunch.  After lunch go back along the Clydebank Rd to highway, cross over and follow Montgomery Rd to the Maffra – Sale Rd, turn left and proceed to Blyth’s Lane turning right then follow around to the Bundalaguah Rd (Backwater Rd ) & back to Maffra.

SALE – NAMBROK – MAFFRA – SALE

 Leave from Sale out through Pearsondale and round to Kilmany where we do a quick right then left at the highway into the Toongabbie Rd, then turn right at the Maffra – Rosedale Rd and follow to Staggs Corner where we turn right and go over the Boggy Creek and turn left into Kingscott’s Lane then down to Colemans Road and into Maffra for lunch.  After lunch go along the Stratford Rd cross the highway into Airly Rd then Hagens Rd and Gibsons Rd back to the start at Sale.

10:00am start from the Port of Sale car park behind the Council Offices.

STRATFORD – STOCKDALE RD – BOISDALE –

WEIRS CROSSING – STRATFORD.

65km.

 From the start head up the Briagolong Rd then bear right onto the Stockdale Rd. At the Stockdale – Briagolong Rd intersection turn left and follow on to the Briagolong – Valencia Creek Rd , crossing the Avon River go up the hill bearing left towards Boisdale. About ¾ the way down the hill turn right into Back Valencia Creek Rd and at the next intersection of the Boisdale – Newry Rd turn left and go into Boisdale for lunch.

After lunch head towards Maffra and bear left into the Boisdale – Stratford Rd (Beet Rd ) then right into Littles Rd then at Brewers Hill Rd turn left and head back to Stratford via Weirs Crossing.

 Enjoy a short ride around the R.A.A.F. Base followed by a BYO all BBQ lunch all to precede the A.G.M.

HEYFIELD – TOONGABBIE – HEYFIELD.

From the start, head out of town past the old Butter Factory to the Heyfield – Dawson Rd. At the Seaton – Cowwarr Rd turn left, & turn right at Traralgon Rd and head towards the Cowwarr Weir. At the intersection of the Walhalla and Toongabbie Rds turn left towards Toongabbie & lunch at the football ground. After lunch we head towards Cowwarr then bear right into the Sale – Toongabbie Rd, after crossing the Heyfield -  Rosedale Rd turn left at Denison Rd then go up to the Sale – Heyfield Rd where we turn left and proceed back to Heyfield.    

10:00am start from Heyfield Apex Park.

WOODSIDE – PORT ALBERT – WOODSIDE.

Riding from the Woodside Hall proceeding towards Woodside Beach, turning right on the McLoughlins Beach Rd, at Balloong Rd intersection go right and follow til joining the Old Sale Rd bearing left &follow round to Tarraville. From Tarraville follow round to Port Albert where those who wish to can partake in a delicious fish & chip lunch (highly recommended).  

After lunch we follow the main road back to Alberton then the highway up to Pound Rd East, turning right and following till rejoining Old Sale Rd  back to South Gippsland Highway for last 7 km’s back to Woodside.

Come one come all and enjoy a very mysterious ramble/gambol around Sale with Cathie acting as our tour guide. This ride has a tiny bit of gravel but is suitable for all tyres.

BRIAGOLONG – GLENMAGGIE WEIR – BRIAGOLONG.

65km.

 From the start we head towards Boisdale, up the hill past the school towards Newry. At the Newry football grounds we turn right into Three Chain Rd and follow on into Horstman’s Lane, then at the Upper Maffra Rd turn right and go to the Glenmaggie Weir Wall for lunch. After lunch we exit the weir to the right and at the Tinamba – Glenmaggie Rd turn left and go down Blores Hill and up to Mansons Bridge and round to the Newry butter factory corner, then turn right into Lower Newry Rd and follow round via Bellbird Corner to the Newry - Maffra Rd then up the hill to Sandy Creek Rd where we turn left and at the cemetery turn left again and go round the tip to the Boisdale Rd, turning left then at Pearces Lane turn right and then at Back Boisdale Rd go left to the Briagolong Rd then over Bushy Park Bridge and back to the start.

10:00am start from Anzac Park Briagolong.

LONGFORD – SEASPRAY – LONGFORD.

60km.

 From the start we ride down the highway to Stradbroke where we turn left onto the Seaspray – Stradbroke Rd which joins with Middle Rd, we then follow that down to the T- intersection with Owens Lane and turn left and follow on past the Seaspray School and on into Seaspray for lunch. After lunch we follow the Seaspray – Sale Rd back to the Stradbroke Rd intersection and turn left and follow it until we meet with the Middle Rd and then follow it back to the main road near the bottom of 3GI Hill, from there it is a short easy run back home.

HEYFIELD – CHEYNES BRIDGE – HEYFIELD.

65km.

From the start we proceed to the Glenmaggie Township and at the bridge over the weir we all DISMOUNT and WALK over the bridge before resuming our ride to Cheynes Bridge for lunch.

A point to remember on this ride is that the road is narrow and winding so care should be taken at all times. After lunch we retrace our route until we get to Monds Hill which we ride down and join up with the Seaton – Glenmaggie Rd. Bearing left down the hill we rejoin the main road adjacent to the cemetery, turning right we once again retrace our route back to the Tinamba Rd where we turn left and ride around to Weir Rd, turning right will have us on track back to Heyfield and the finish.

1st Ride for 2009 - Maffra - Blue Pools - Maffra

65km

Support:

Sage

Leaving from Maffra, head towards Stratford via Weirs Crossing. Turn left down Llowalong Rd, follow to Briagolong. Ride on the Freestone Creek Rd to the Blue pools for lunch.

After lunch, retrace our steps to the Briag/ Valencia Creek Rd intersection and turn right and go to the Briag/Bushy Park intersection and turn left back to the main rd at Bushy Park. Go over Avon river, turn left into Back Boisdale rd and back onto the Maffra Rd. Up the Maffra Rd turn right to Sellings Rd (tip hill), then turn left at Sellings Lane and follow on back into Maffra.

Riders are requested to arrive 15 minutes before 10.00am and be ready to start on time.
